The seeds of Duncan Nurseries Inc. were literally planted in 1972 when Bob and
Gwen Duncan decided to take a chance and live their dream.
With a family to support, Bob could not risk quitting his full
time job
immediately so he, Gwen and their two children, Danny and Suzanne, spent much of
their spare evening
and weekend hours
cultivating the nursery. Their hard
work paid off and by 1980, Bob felt secure enough to leave his employment of 20+
years and go into the nursery business full time. From these humble beginnings,
Duncan Nursery has grown from 1 acre to 12 acres; from 50 varieties of trees and
shrubs to over 1,000! Today, the nursery is still owned and operated by Bob,
Gwen and Suzanne with the same friendly service and personal touch that has been
their trademark for over 30 years.
Centrally
located off hwy 165 in Ball Louisiana, just 7 miles north of Alexandria, Duncan
Nursery is convenient to all areas of the state.
We are open 364 days a year (closed Christmas).
